Hi! How has your week been?
First: Have you heard about my anti-Hallmark Mother’s Day Weekend Retreat? Have you seen the LIVE I did with my friend Ryan Rose Weaver (she/hers) on the complicated feelings we’re afraid to express around Mother’s Day?
Marking Mother’s Day in ways that don’t feel fake with Kate Lynch
Ryan and I are going LIVE again on May 20, 12pm Eastern, to talk about Mindfulness for Highly Sensitive People and her talk at the Selfworthy HSP Summit which I’m hosting May 28-30.
It wasn’t that many years ago that we had given up on air travel.
Eloping in airports.
Meltdowns in TSA lines.
Car sickness, air sickness, seasickness, food poisoning… ugh.
But traveling is an intrinsic part of me, and eventually I had to try again. Fast forward to earlier this month: I was teaching yoga on the beach at a resort in Cozumel. I brought John and Ocean with me.
I’m grateful that Ocean is an expert traveler now.
He helped with bags, and was relatively cheerful after a long day of flights. It’s not perfect, of course. We had some food issues, rigid thinking, and screen battles. But we would have had those at home, so why not do it in Mexico!
We’ve been back a few weeks. I’m still savoring the sensation of buoyancy as we snorkeled with rays, starfish, sea turtles, and so many beautiful fishies!
What I Shared in March
What a prolific month!
What I shared in April
A 3-part deep dive into one of my special interests, Polyvagal Theory, and how it has helped me stay regulated and present.
A kinder future for our kids begins with kindness toward ourselves.
