The Power of Parent Community and Advocacy Beats Isolation Every Time
I remember staying up late, alone with the glow of my laptop, searching for answers to unanswerable questions. My eyes glazed with anxiety and exhaustion.
“Kate, just want to say how much I appreciate your work and resonate with this essay. My kiddo is 3.5 years old and my partner and I are just in the process of recognizing and getting support for him. It's brought up a lot of grief in the recognition of how lonely our parenting experience has felt for a long while, but I feel affirmed by reading stories from other parents with similar kiddos.”

“The way you explored rituals for resilience and relational compassion resonated deeply. For those of us navigating intensive caregiving without breaks, the idea that self-care can be a form of advocacy for ourselves and our children is a lifeline.”

Thank you for this great content!
Hi Kate,
This is a wonderful round up and thank you for mentioning me. I’m recovering from an injury but I was able to offer a tribute to my twins with disabilities for disability pride month. It went out on the 31st. It’s called. I will always love you.
This is the first time that I wrote about my daughter Libby and felt 100% proud not apologetic. It’s taken a long time to come to this place.
Thank you for being here and for the beautiful work that you’re doing. 🌹
