I relate so much to this struggle. My son begged for this dog which is dog #2. So much work. Thank you for sharing and I’ll look at that tool in her linked article!
Lolly, yes! That’s why I was resistant for so many years! One day, I just caved.
Maybe I was looking for a new baby to love now that Ocean’s a teenager. Maybe I could tell how much my husband wanted a dog, and since he has been struggling so much with his health I didn’t want to deny him. Maybe I just wasn’t thinking. Intuition took over in that decision, and now we’re a family of four.
I hear you. It’s a decision in a brief moment that lasts decades. I sometimes regret dog #2 but he did need a home and I try to
come back to that in my dark moments! It is hard with these 2 dogs. I suspect with couch dogs it would not be. Your peanut is so cute. How old is he now?
I totally get this!!! We have a nearly 2 year old Mini
bernedoodle - who is amazing … she is ‘my daughters dog’ 😂🤣😂
Libby chose my daughter … we all love her AND I do ‘all the things’ for Libby.
Lucky for me, our cutie sleeps with me and loves to be rubbed and loved on a lot! She is sweet and smart and thankfully we have a neighbor dog who is a month younger than Libby, he’s her bff - and we won the neighbor lottery so those two are able to run back and forth between both homes - like the feral kids we were running the neighborhood back in ‘the day’ !!
Grateful the dogs choose to spend time snuggling at the neighbors … and sometimes they are over here!
Libby does go with my girl on the weekend to her dads - and I really miss the dogs presence when they’re gone Altho it is nice to not have the responsibility!

How many in your family?
How old is your son?
Is having 2 dogs much harder than one?

Haha! It feels good to commiserate and know I’m not the only one! 😆
He’s just 3 months.
Oh…difficult, yes, but damn photogenic :)
He sure is! And his behavior is improving every day. :D
